The Tale of A Fearless Stray Dog Attacked by a Lioness in Sasan Gir Forest, Shows How to Survive in Wild

Gir National Park, a deep jungle spread across 1,153 square kilometers, situated in Junagadh district, Gujarat, is a fully protected wildlife sanctuary, home to numbers of flora and fauna. The globally famous Gir Forest and Wildlife Sanctuary has been listed among the seven best-protected regions selected for their noble contribution to the ecosystem, which they perform through some biodiversity conservation by the Eco-Development project.  

The World Bank has executed the entire eco-development project for the Sasan Gir National Park, while the funding has been collected from the Global Environment Facility. And of course, the noble project didn't have achieved success had the forest officials joined in. Their simultaneous effort has brought accomplishment in conserving the endangered Asiatic Lions' endmost refuge, which was about to extinct some years back. These royal and magnificent Asiatic Lions are the main attraction of the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, attracting crowds of visitors from every corner of the globe.

Today, we are here to tell you a tale of two adorable natural habitats of this area, a fearless stray and an elegant lioness. An interesting video clip was viral on the internet back in 2019, which is said to be shot within the Gir Forest Map premises. 

In the video, which was shot inside the Gir National Park, we can see an Asiatic lioness, during her hunting, locks her target on a stray at a distance of a few meters. The lioness is then seen running furiously towards the dog, trying to grab its neck with the help of her jaws and claws, just the way she injures her targets. But what happens next left all the viewers stunned.

The dog, showing utter bravery, confronts the royal cat, and fights with her. A one-on-one battle occurs between the two differently sized and dissimilarly powerful brutes, both living in and around the Sasan Gir Forest.

But the result was unexpected. The dog, which was way smaller and had much less strength than the lioness, gave a tough battle to the enormous beast and succeeded in escaping her clasp. Finally, the lioness falls silent, and perhaps quite upset on her defeat, and leaves the place slowly. The local people around Gir Forest captured the whole incident on a mobile camera, and later, the video was posted on the internet, went viral with a lot of likes and shares.

Wasn’t the footage remarkable? The entire incident has epitomized the strength of will power, how refusing to give up saved the stray from becoming the meal for the deadly carnivore.
